Builders
Why are builders so busy these days. Can't get a local builder or bricky for love nor money. Even the awful ones are busy.
Is it related to housing market ?

Re: Builders
Related to the housing market? Dunno, but it isn't related to West Ham so you're on the wrong website.

Re: Builders
1. The British public are scaring off the decent foreign builders who prop up the whole industry.

2. Severe lack of apprenticeships for 16-19 year old tradesmen. As 5 tradesmen retire, only 1 apprentice replaces them..

3. British kids are lazy and too busy on social media, expecting fortunes for posting videos of themselves online. Instead of actual graft.

4. All new build house are shit. Made of paper. Your average new build 3 bed house costs approx £100k to build, and sold for £350k +. The Housebuilders are making so much OH&P to cover white collar, they don't need to expand workforce etc. The Barrats, Taylor Wimpeys, Bovis etc. control the Housing Market. Not the GDP/Brexit etc.

They are all on the Central line.
No one ever sees the irony of loads of immigrant builders building homes for er immigrants.

Re: Builders
People have started installing PANIC ROOMS in the expectation that once we BREXIT the population will become a scavenging feral mass roaming the streets to rob & pillage.

Re: Builders
There is a lack of tradesmen of any kind, good bad or indifferent. It isn't actually that busy out there, I must hear the words "feast or famine" three times a week.

Maybe I misunderstand. You contend that since the referendum, that is to say just over 10 months ago, that new builds have increased or that people have started improving their properties en masse as a result of the decision to leave ?

Hmmm...

Re: Builders
Oddly enough it's q positive of Brexit. Mix very strong rule of law with land ownership and the fall in the pound and you get a massive amount of foreign money in as a result. Luckily it also happens at a time of upturn in the global economy, with the US and Eurozone on firmer footing as well as stabilisation in China's economy

Re: Builders
new builds going up everywhere, massive estates joining towns together.
Most builders I've talked to say it's a 'time penalty' situation and the builds are embarrassingly shit.
